Salem, Massachusetts. As soon as I arrived it felt like home. It’s a beautiful town, full of amazing history, and the people were incredibly helpful, and friendly. I’d love to go back and spend a lot more time there.

Oh, hands down..a 2 week river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest. Took my then 12 yr old daughter, saw my family in Hungary. First holiday without controlling husband. The marriage was over and the trip helped me to forge ahead and divorce him. It was a soul healing strengthening event. I've not looked back since.

Years ago I went to Japan with a friend. It snowed the whole time we were there. We had never seen snow before. It was a dream holiday.

Hard one. I loved Egypt because of its history & got to go into a pyramid., Lake Louise-Canada just beautiful. Cruise on the 3 Queens of Cunard going from Us to Uk to Europe just amazing . China also was vey interesting. can't really pick one.

ITALY, amazing.

There are so many amazing places I have been, it's hard to say which was the best. I guess the Costa del Sol in Spain as we had a holiday villa there. There's so much to see and do!

Fiordland, New Zealand. You have to experience the place to believe it can be so magnificent. after that, Fiji, on a beach., then Switzerland

Vietnam - Ancient town of Hoi An was very interesting and people friendly and helpful. Lots to see and do especially the trip to Marble Mountain! It was breathtaking but very cold on top of the mountain. Luckily there was a place to buy jackets that didn't cost an arm and a leg. Would love to go back again.

I always say straight away, my trip around the world. I used up 11 months of my 12 month ticket. So I was backpacking, you could say (not working), Japan-Hong Kong-Thailand-Singapore-Greece-Germany-England-canada-Hawaii. Still additional countries I went into were China, Malaysia, Italy, Austria, Scotland, Spain, Ireland, and USA. I kept a Diary on a website I made so others could read it (nothing like facebook existed then). that was a big event. Edited 21-Apr-23 14:35pm

World wide there are amazing places, last place I visited was Western Australia from wild flowers to white sandy beaches and amazing views and things to see and do in nature, many more to come and how can we just chose one when there are some many in the world and all special for many reasons

My favourite destination is Jamaica. I go every year to visit friends and family.

Tasmania last month!

My first trip to Tasmania as a 21 year old was wonderful. I'd never left home before and I went with a girlfriend. We worked in a private school in Hobart and had afternoons and weekends free to explore. Everything was new and different from suburban Sydney and the Tasmanians were so friendly. It was perhaps 10 years before I got back there - by then they had been swamped by heaps of overseas visitors and there was less of the laid back friendliness I had first noticed but still more relaxed than the streets of Sydney.1

One place you don’t go to is Niagara Falls in mid January ( winter). I did and was so cold but had no choice as bus only went to it twice a day.

I went on a bus trip around Europe,Austria Germany Switzerland bit of France and Italy. It was great.on bus a fellow Aussie asked how many photos have I taken. I said this is my first and only time here so need the memory of it. Have been on a Greyhound bus around USA and saw great places Edited 21-Apr-23 15:50pm

My late husband and I went to Oahu and Maui for 8 days. We went to Pearl Harbour and out onto the Arizona Memorial site. It was a really humbling experience to think of what they went through on that fateful day. It is very well cared for and when we through our lays out, they floated opposite to the oil that is still seeping out from the sunken ship. We also went on a helicopter ride to see all of the wonderous sites and in a submarine and saw white coral. It was such a magical time and didn't cost us a cent. I won it through Lotto when they had a competition going. If you bought a lotto ticket and super 66, the machine printed out another ticket with the word Lotto on it. All you had to do was circle one of the letters, send it in then see if your name was drawn. I'm glad we won otherwise I'd never have been able to afford the trip.

By far and away the best place I've ever been is Iceland.

Italy, we spent 3 weeks in Italy, many years ago. We spent a week in a small town, in an old villa that had been converted into a hotel. That week was a business trip for my husband. It was very interesting, immersing our- selves in everyday life. Next, we drove to Pisa and climbed the Leaning Tower, that was so cool, seeing all the initials on the walls, and climbing the steps that had been worn deeply by thousands of feet. Then we traveled to Florence to visit Il Duomo and Ponte Vecchio., and the Pitti Palace , where we saw many beautiful works of art. Finally, we got to Rome, which was the highlight of our trip. We visited the Colisseum, which sent chills through my spine! We also went to Vatican City, St.Peter's Cathedral, and saw "The Pieta'.We also toured the Vatican Museum, took a horse drawn carriage ride around the city. We wanted to visit the Sistene Chapel, but it was closed for renovations or something. We climbed the Spanish Steps and threw coins in the Trevi Fountain. It was truly the most memorable trip!

The best holiday I can remember was a week staying in a caravan in Cornwall, very often, with Devon & Cornwall being called "little riviera". I was just hitting the teenage years & felt as if I was the only person in the world.

Dubai UAE, they've got everything there to suit the whole family. It's a beautiful place to holiday, with many attractions to chose from, excellent accommodation options, shopping, unique and beautiful natural landscapes, great for exploring new cultures, awesome place for foodies as well.

Negating any sexually beneficial excursions with my ex, my ex to be ex....the Outer Banks of NC. The valleys o N WV, and Key West. Fishing, swimming, lounging, and snorkeling. Hiking, camping, spelunking. Snorkeling, eating, and watching the natives wear fur coats after a cold front came thru n it dropped to 72 in July....lol...in that order.

Long island Ontario

Probably going back to visit the relatives in Hungary after not seeing them for 20 years. Had a real good catch up, didn't have to worry about food or accommodation and did quite a bit of sight seeing. Was there for a wedding, death of our Grandfather, was the main reason for going at that time as the plan was originally for the following year (me, my mum and two brothers). There was also a new baby born as well, so it was really full on.

I have only ever been to Australia and Vanuatu and it definitely was not Vanuatu but I love visiting Australia and it's usually to Sydney,Brisbane or the Gold Coast.I am heading to The cook Islands at the end of July this year so looking forward to that experience.

RABBIT LAKE IN KENORA ONTARIO

We spent 6weeks travelling halfway around Australia when the kids were younger. A fantastic trip, rough slept most of it- kids did not care one bit. Highlights were noodling for opals at Lightning Ridge, NSW and finding fossils at Richmond, Qld. We saw some stunning sunrises and sunsets too. Worst part was being awake for over 72 hours straight when our youngest wouldn't sleep through the night and we spent our days exploring and travelling. That was very tiring.

Home. Seen a fair bit of Australia and a little of o/s, but home doing not much, turn off the World

Our 4 year trip around Australia, in our own van stopping some were different nearly every night. We saw some amazing things and some not so nice things. Our high lights there are far too many to mention but the 1 that stands out the most for me is seeing Uluru and doing the climb (which can not be done today.) Walking around the Olgas was amazing too. Then any where in WA and SA were really good. I am so glad we did our trip when we did as now because of Covid there are many more vans out there doing trips. We still at times had problems finding places to stop even back then.We would be the first to arrive and the last to leave. Some times we only drove for a few hours and then we'd find some where to stop for the night. Gravel pits became great places to stay a night.

Ruakaka in New Zealand the beaches are clean with crystal clear water you have a choice on waves or no waves within 10 mins of each other. Little shopping centre for all your needs

Suth Carolina, we were ther but it was our last day. By the time we got home, all restaurants were closed, we had peanut butter and jelly for Christmas diner. We had a great time on vacation.

Interlaken- yes it was stunning, but it was so much fun! Tobogganing on the ski runs upsetting the skiers, sleeping in a dorm with with poor old Marty the Vietnam Vet who unfortunately had flashbacks, playing American Pictionary were they call everything by the wrong name, drinking beer and spending a lot of time lying down in the snow…

When I was younger, the Jersey Shore every summer.

Magnetic Island - close to Townsville but so beautiful to visit. Have taken visitors there as well as having stayed there ourselves. Must go again.

Iceland -- beautiful, great food and people !!

Newfoundland, Canada. Gorgeous geography and such calm energy - totally soul satisfying.

The drives up to Byron Bay in the back seat of the old Toyota corolla( my sister and I 'packed in' ) were NOT great! But the places up there were unspoilt back then. We stayed on Wategos beach and watched the lighthouse at night through our little window in the caravan provided by the owners there. As an adult the best place hands down was Fiji. Beautiful people! So relaxing .Did not want to come home.
