Discussion of the Day
Do you trust doctors?
Leoroy25-Nov-24
My trust in Dr's is going down.
Do you trust them? Lately they just seem to push unnecessary medication/pills when in reality all I had to do was take up exercise and change my diet

  • You can always change doctors, or get a second opinion. You only get one shot at life so if you aren't happy, make the change.

    • I trust them to a point, but when I get one that don't know anything about my medical condition, I ask them to read up on the condition or can I get a second option who know about it. But that is hospital Dr's my GP is good on the medical condition, It's taken me some time to train her up on it. LOL

      • I...now...have an integrated team of medical doctors and specialists who work together without undermining each other so I get the best care possible. Yes I trust them--and it definitely makes a difference.
        ·
        • yes and no gp are only drug pimps that rely on doctor google. They charge big dollars to go to your local drug dealer [chemist] . As for operations you have to trust them and hopefully you are in good hands. At the end of the day its business.

          • I have a great doctor.
            ·
            • Depends on what you went tot he Dr for but the reality is when GP's suggest better eating and exercise most people refuse to follow the advice and demand a pill to cure what is wrong with them. After all if you are going to a GP they are there to prescribe pills to make you better not to tell you to eat decent food and exercise as anyone can tell you to do that. Same for Gall Stones what would most people prefer a pill or injection or to be told to stop all dairy? Both will work but the pill or injection works faster even if it doesn't get to the root of the problem and will mean you are attending the GP much more often.

              • Absolutely. I should have been dead at 53 but with the extraordinary levels of care lavished upon me, I'm now 78 and going strong.
                ·
                • The majority of them…no.
                  ·

                        • I feel that Doctors in New Zealand are quite trustworthy, I just wish there was'nt such a shortage of them especially GPs.

                              • I like getting recommendations from people I know. I have had some very good doctors but I always let them know I teach and advocate nutrition and physical exercise and I will only do meds as a last resort. I know too well the kick backs that Big Pharma is egar to give to doctors and clinics. I do believe the USA will be on the right track with RFKjr. He is going to make America healthy again. And no he is not an anti-vaxer he just wants to be able to have accountability and choice. Our food is killing us.

                                • Do your homework he is not anti vax, he is going to hold Big Pharma accountable. You do realize children in the USA get 72 shots, no other country allows that and we aren't even close to having healthy children.

Of course, my education was predominantly science and I still follow closely today so I have somewhat of a grasp on what is true. Believe me, I don't listen to Trump! Or most politicians for that matter. I love getting in my Trump shots anywhere and any day I can. LOL

                                        • A doctor you trust, who is interested in your holistic wellbeing is one to keep, and as previously noted, knowing when to refer to a specialist is crucial! I have extreme sensitivity’s so don’t allow myself to be prescribed antibiotics, anti inflammatory etc unless their is no other options, knowing your own body is imperative.,.

There are 2 doctors in the practice, one denied that covid existed, that people died & anti vax. Unfortunately when I get that one, I feel like I have to fight to be heard. There is no female doctor in the practice which can be awkward. Living rurally that's our only option.

O yes, and that's ALSO, not to mention the fact that MAJORITY OF the medications that are prescribed, in FACT, have A, or MULTIPLE ingredients that get people hooked on HEAVY/ HEAVIER "drugs"!!! To sum this all up, I simply do NOT trust doctors, and I HOPE that this at least just brings AWARENESS/ CAUTION to those who either DON'T know this, TRUST doctors, and/ or, those whom are currently TAKING prescription drugs "medication"! Lastly, even if anyone is STILL skeptical of this post, I simply, and STRONGLY URGE you to JUST look into/ research your condition(s), EDUCATE yourself, BEFORE just TRUSTING what a doctor TELLS, OR "RECOMMENDS" for you! ❤️‍🩹

I hurt my sciatica nerve in August . I was in terrible pain and my doctor was there to give me pain killers. Then I asked other people who has inflammation and told me took take turmeric and it will help. Then I looked on YouTube and used physio exercises for sciatic pain. Then someone told me to use pillows under my legs when I sleep. Also, I’ve been seeing a chiropractor and have to pay full price because it’s not covered on our Medicare plan. Three months later and the pain is almost gone. Again, My doctor only gave me pills and sent me home.I had to do my own homework to heal.

I trust my optometrist who treats and tests for my mild glaucoma twice a year and requires two kinds of Rx eye drops used thrice a day. Dr S makes suggestions like he is a nut on vaccines especially for this Covey 19 farce which is pure BS anyway. However, unlike my GP doctor who harps on that issue, insists I stop smoking and vaping and using alcohol (He himself smokes MJ and want it legalized yet tobacco and nicotine which even doctors of the Renaissance Era recommended to PREVENT cancer he calls incorrect. I see this nutcase once in a half decade) so I am thinking of dropping him as my GP which I need like I need a hole in the head. He is a lot younger than me (I am 75) yet I am in better shape than he is! Dr S (my optometrist) is closer to my age and I like him a lot.

I completely trust my General Practitioner. When a health issue that is not part of her in-depth area of medical expertise - she will immediately refer me too the appropriate MD (example: Heart and blood vessels concerns - she will refer me to a Cardiologist - which she has done). Furthermore, she has been my GP for 26 years and counting!

We had to switch GP's but now we are blessed too with a wonderful lady who cares. And.....she is much closer to where we live which is also a plus. Also, the MD she works under is one of the BEST I have ever known.

I would look around for another if you're not satisfied.

Yes some get kickbacks from pharma companies but they are not there to make you sicker. All the conspiracy theories have only bought about distrust and the increase in preventative diseases flourish. If you have a problem, see a doctor. If you are unsure see another. Research reputable papers not social media. You can ask questions face to face and begin to understand the needs of medications i.e. if you have pneumonia you need antibiotics. Peoples still die from this illness. If you have a broken leg surely you would see a doctor/hospital and take pain meds and the list goes on. Use common sense.

They are the puppets of drug companies and schools that are only interested in money. The food industry is also caught up and they fund studies to justify the processed crap they make which makes us sick and addicted. That said i like my dr, he's nice.
