Best invention ever

Television, mobile phone, which invention for you was the best ever? For me, hands down, it has been the microwave. It has made my life so much easier. I can remember nights when the meat wouldn't thaw or the bread was a frozen lump, but now nothing is a problem. I can defrost, thaw or cook whatever I want whenever I want. I no longer cook veggies on the cooktop, or rice and milk, it all goes into the microwave. Even the gravy goes into the microwave. I don't know what I would do without it.

    The indoor toilet no running outside in the middle of the night and sharing it with spiders.cobwebs and frogs and ithe indoor toilet flushes.

            These appliances are not essential. Lights, water, and toilets are. We can do without TV, microwave, washing machines, Vacuum, etc.

                              The Smart Phone. If it is used properly it is fantastic. Problem is a lot of people allow technology to CONTROL their life. Microwaves are convenient but come with a lot of health issues too ... like other technology.

I don't mind using the microwave for reheating BUT you can't beat flavours of home cooking or the aroma when doing a roast .Iguess I'm just old fashioned.How do you make gravy in a microwave.I use the flavoursome juices in the roasting pan .Mobile phone & TV are great

                                            Hope you like it. I don;t like the chicken and herbs so just use roast meat gravy on the chicken. It's lovely and thick. What about the 40 second rice, have you tried that? Perhaps a little expensive but we don't eat rice very often and it's just enough for 2 serves rather than cooking a cup of rice that you don't use anyway.

                                                            I thought I was the only one that felt this way! I'd love to see them banned. They are a great convenience, but they have gotten completely out-of-hand, and texting constantly drives me nuts! Why? Call and talk to me or come and visit. When people do visit, I try to talk to them, and I know they didn't hear a word I said because they are either on facebook or texting! I think it is rude, and I have told some people that. It makes me feel others are more important, and what is the point of being in MY house! Go to theres! Where are our manners???

                                                                  Microwave is the only way that I cook, but I wonder how healthy it is. I wonder that about a lot of things. I know for a fact that all the electricity and other things in the air we can't see is killing us! The average person does not know how anything works so how do we know it's safe. We just jump on the latest technology and think it's fantastic!

                                                                  The microwave is safe Carol but you have to watch the containers you use in them because they are made from petro chemicals and can be nasty.

                                                                  Adding to that, glass is the most inert material you can cook with. Just make sure the glass you use is not leaded glass. Pyrex is a good brand for glass cooking items.

                                                                    An electrical engineer stated that we are living in "electrified birdcages." I have the documents to prove it, and it is also on the internet. The doctor that agreed with his theory ended up suddenly dead! One of my doctors said he's aware of the dangers of electricity. It almost killed my friend because she is so sensitive to it. She shut off all electricity from outside, and you could feel the difference in the environment! We tried to stop it, but no one will do anything. The electric company won't do anything about it unless it's killing trees! It was killing trees in Hershey, Pa., and they took the meters out so the trees would live. The technology came from the Navy which used it as a weapon. It's low-frequency, pulsating electricity which is used to read your electric meter. I had mine taken out!

                                                                    i briefly read recently about a high number of people who all got brain cancers- and they had all gone to the same high school- in USA. I wonder what was there or nearby that could have be causative..too coincidental surely?

                                                                    The best invention EVER was wheels on suitcases. The person who thought of it should have been named a saint as he/she saved so many pulled muscles around the world. I remember- back in the old days - when I had to carry the suitcases.

                                                                                A reliable Internal Combustion engine with timed ignition instead of the old trembler point system. It allowed engines to be built better last longer and be more reliable and without it there would be no vehicular transport today so not much else matters when the only place you can get food is what you can grow in the back yard and the only news you'll ever hear is what you are gossiping about over the fence.

                                                                                  Turbo Fan Engines came after I was born and have been used exclusively on commercial aircraft but I personally would not call them an improvement if anything just slightly less dirty than what they replaced. When I started working I worked with Computers which most people would have had no idea of as they where massive big things that took up floors of building space and needed lots of Air-conditioning but at least they used Tapes not Punch Cards. The advent of the Personal Computer has made things much worse and even though most people carry around a computer much more powerful that took man to the moon in their pockets and live on the screens those things are neither Smart or an Improvement just a Cash Cow for the marketing people who flog them to the gullible public. Neither of those was an Marvelous Invention that changed History but both made a Hell of a Lot of Money for some Business. The most exciting thing made since my birth is the Jindlee Over the Horizon Radar not even an improvement as such but an entirely new concept but Timed Ignition Engines are the one thing that has had such an impact that changed the world to such an extent that it would not have been anything like it is now without it.

Before there was a washing machine, I washed my clothes by hand. Fortunately, I finally bought a washing machine. At that time, I was 30 years old. TVs, cell phones, those are not necessities.

Next would be the dishwasher as I really do not like washing by hand especially with a bad back standing at the sink. The mobile phone would be last on my list of great inventions.

                                                                                                                                                            No, ovens and microwaves are definitely not the best invention ever. That is ridiculous! We don't need microwaves. And I believe they aren't safe and I would not cook food in one. Radiation leakage. Its the lazy way to cook. I'd rather a slow cooktop than a microwave, Have used one...but I don't think they are great.
