I like to have a swim now and then just to keep healthy am in my 60s. One morning I went shopping and met an elderly woman then 85 who said hello but couldn't stop to chat as she was dashing off to an exercise class (she was the instructor) I felt so content after meeting this woman. Do you have any of these friends?

Have a friend who does Tai Chi every morning and who walks daily and lives on her own and does her gardening. My mother still lived on her own at 99 and did her own cooking and some gardening and certainly didn't look her age. I walk most days, exercise every morning and am still fit, so maybe I'll beast my mum.

I am early 60's and walk with our large dog everyday 45-60 minutes at Botanical gardens just across the road. Now my mum is now 89 slowed down a wee bit and just recently stopped driving but at 80 she gave up delivering meals on wheels to the elderly cos she was too busy with other things. Mum you are elderly, No I am not lol

Walking with my doggy, doing yoga. I’ve a fractured little toe for 2 weeks now, so I walk in a funny way, as a result I had a few fall but no other body parts broke :) I must slow down, be careful with everything I do. Resting. I’m getting even more lazier then I was before :)) I’ve a friend who walks a lot, well over 70. (I’m not quiet yet.) Very inspirational. My doggy and me, went for a walk today, well, he did the running! That made me happy.

I still go to the Gym every 2nd day so as to get 7 workouts every fortnight, each visit is for about 2 hours of hard work, no sitting about chatting, understandable as there are no other people at the gym at the time I go. It is never too late to get into fitness. I went to a gym when I was in my late teens then work got in the way as I was always travelling. I started again when I was 72 and am now 83. Love it and it also keeps the mind working!

I still do anabolic exercise and aerobic exercise in my seventies (six times a week) - just takes a lot longer to do my exercise regimen - then when I was in my twenties. My ex-wife retired from one job (civil service), and she is presently a Pilate instructor in her second career - we are very, very, very, very slowly becoming friends (she would be the closest friend - that fits the description you asked about)?

I walk my dog and we are both in our 70's (her in dog years) so we stroll these days. We go out about every 2 hours every day for about 10 minutes. I used to do competitive squash, swim, ride a bike and all sorts of various things but now my body is letting me know. Arthritis, bad back etc. the toll is high. Great to be able to exercise if your body allows you to.

At 73 Don't have any one to go walking with but do go to a leisure marching practice once a week for an hour. That means we do march for an hour. I go on my walking machine for 1/2 hr most day. Out round the farm to shift fences over the winter.

I am blessed to have a group of friends that I have known for over 45 years. There is about 10 of us and we meet about 4 or 5 times a year when someone is having a birthday. We celebrate together with no arguments, not fights, no bitchyness. What a wonderful group of friends. We will be friends forever

I have joined the Heart Foundation Walking Group. The leader is 86. She is so 'cool'. So bright, cheery and knowledgable. We walk for 4 k or an hour. After our walk she brings tea and bookie and we sit in the park for about an hour and have a good old chat - sometimes we do a.cafe instead. It really makes my week.

Good News Story YAYE! No friends like that, that I'm aware of unless they are really, really good at keeping secrets .. there's got to be a first for everything!!! I tried to learn to swim at school but getting cramps in my legs ... a leg-acy from fleeing during winter, walking across the border in 1metre snow HOWEVER did manage to teach myself to swim a bit in salt water on safe Aussie beach. I do my bend and stretch exercises at home and count hanging washing out as part of a routine, put clothes basket on the ground to pick clothes up and have the hill hoist just above my reach to get that extra bit of stretch. Think it best to do what I can within safe surroundings and stay fit and eat healthy ... all in all not doing bad for 71!

No none. Wish I had it might motivate me to exercise more. The most I do is walk every day for approx. 30 min. with my dog. Used to love dancing the Rock and Roll. Now that kept me fit. Sometimes I wish I could go back to it again.
