Morning television weather reports

I do not understand the reason why the weather report for Australia is sometimes given on the television morning show from overseas. This week, our weather report was given from Morocco. Today the weatherman was in Casablanca.
I do not understand why the weather report for Australia needs to be given from overseas. I am aware of the promotional message to contact a specific travel agency and guess the weather report is sponsored by this company.
I am interested in finding out the weather for the day and have no interest in finding out about the workings of a foreign city.
Do other people consider it necessary that travel tips about the overseas city where the weatherman is broadcasting from is relevant to the weather in Australia?

              I never noticed. Maybe because I watch the weather report at night so I can plan my next day. I never waste time watching daytime television.

                that is easy to answer - the cast, reporters, upper management, and all associated with the news in todays times are liars and idiots. They live in a make believe world and expect us (the educated ones) to believe them and think they are awesome! BS was their top class in college.........LOL

                    It's to give you and idea of what you can do or see in foreign countries or other places. Often people don't want to watch a show about people travelling but if you're watching the weather you are more likely to pay attention and notice the weatherman's surroundings and think it might be a nice place to visit.

                      I was thinking the same thing Glen. Just odd and seemed like an excuse for the weather team to get an expenses paid trip. I did enjoy seeing bits of Morocco but why can’t they do more of showing off Australia. Maybe the tv channel has a deal with the tourism sector in other countries it visits and televises. They can’t have travelled everywhere here in Australia that they need to go overseas yet. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one thinking this way.

                        No one need news readers or weather person, a person reads for you from a screen and why the news reader needs to be introduce by another person (voice over: the 5 Oclock news with Sandra Sully!!!!)

                                        I don't watch morning weather report - prefer it from met-service on my computer or phone. Good luck to the reporter can get a sponsor to travel while reporting the weather & giving a bit of geography commentary, too.

                                            They want to travel and see the world and if they can get a job that allows them to do it, why not? They still can't get the weather right but that may not necessarily be their fault as they are only reporting it as they have been told to. Kudos to them for being on a program which endorses them doing it in a different country. I always say to hubby want to know what the weather is doing, look out the window. I stopped watching day time television and saves money on electricity.

                                                                        The ABC's Weather is great and its Local, or you can go on the BOM (Bureau of Meteorology) site which is Truly Fantastic, you can get it on your phone, PC, Laptop, iPad. The real beauty of it is that you can get the forecast for your immediate area not just that of capital Citoes etc.. Try it.

                                                                              It is said that if you have nothing else to talk about, then talk about the weather since everyone has an opinion on it. Maybe to have enough to do to stay employed, weatherpersons have to report on weather in other places to justify their job.

                                                                                      Sorry ,don't watch t.v in the morning. I rarely watch at night. I use B.O.M( Beareau of Meteorolgy) app. Best, mist detailed and accurate for weather here in Australia and around the world. Give it a try.

I usually advise listeners,that when you stick your head out the door,if its sunny its not raining,BUT if the ground is wet and the sky is overcast,THEN its probably been raining

I don't watch morning tv as it is really just "morning ads, small talk plus perhaps news"

                                                                                                                  Buy a piece of string and mount it outside, if it’s wet it’s raining, if it’s dry it’s sunny, if it creates no shadow it’s cloudy, if it’s not hanging straight down it’s windy. Then you won’t need to watch a weather report.

                                                                                                                              I don't usually watch the weather on the news (I use yahoo), but I do know, if it's national news, the weather will be from all over the world. Even our weather covers the whole country, especially if there's flooding, and some other natural disaster going on. I don't know if this helps? ;-D

A trip for the weather person I guess. I do not want all the rubbish they go with. Weather equals - It is going to rain, it is fine today and basic temperatures to expect and any warnings. Keep it simple has gone out the window with everything else these days.
