The Australian Government appears to be investigating whether they can introduce floor pricing to the sale of alcohol...at a minimum $1.50 per standard drink....they say that this will stop the sale of cheap drinks...which they argue cause most related problems to drinking...however due to massive taxes which go up annually...the only drink this will affect is wine...leaving the cheapest bottle wine costing $10.50.....NOW if we have to pay $10.50 for a bottle of wine that actually costs $4.95...where does all this new money go to?....into the Government's pockets...it's the tax you are having when you didn't know you were being taxed...and it only affects the poorest people....smoke and mirrors...what do you think? |
