There is only one way to TRUE happiness and that is what you create from your own heart. There are a lot of things that can "influence" being happy ... dream job, dream husband or wife, dream car etc etc ... but only one way for real happiness. People who rely on someone or something (eg job) to make them happy are very often disappointed.

I have never had a dream job or even desired one. My one aim was to have a job I enjoyed and that I was good at, and very fortunately I always seemed to have both. It did become difficult eventually because I refused to work full time. I already had a full time job with a husband and 3 children and all that that entailed. I was moved to another position that better suited my hours but another manager brought me back because of my experience, so I got another round of enjoyment.

I work for a small business and the boss is amazing, I love my job and I’m treated with the utmost respect. It’s important your happy with the job your doing and main so having an understanding boss.

I've never had a dream job so I have no idea, but after having several jobs that have made me unhappy I can only guess that the dream job would be bliss. To actually wake up every morning & look forward to going to work would be wonderful.

Never had a "dream" job but was satisfied with work undertaken and only loathed one position but I stuck at it for more than 4 years for financial purposes.

if it doesn't make you happy, earning an income to provide shelter and food should make life enjoyable at least.

I had a job years ago that turned out to be closest to my dream job. I worked for a large department store, in their Visual Merchandising Dept. (AKA display department). My job was to dress the mannequins in the women's and children's department. I got to choose the accessories and style the wigs to coordinate with the outfits selected by the buyers for each department. It was like playing with life size Barbie dolls. It was a really fun job. When I had my first child, I chose to stay home with her and her two sisters that followed her. By the time all three of them were in school, the store had gone out of business. I got another job as a teacher's aide, working with special needs children. It was a very rewarding job, but not as much fun!

I worked in Heavy Enginering for 45 Years lots of overtime never out of work and took me all over Aus

I enjoyed my whole career as a;adviser to clients on shares and bonds and every day I found something interesting in my whole career

bc u dont live to work, u work to live..(work circumstances changes sometimes over time, and what starts out to be a 'dream job' u suddenly find urself redeployed) :( & if your home life is crappy, then u will not be happy anyways even if ur job was/is a dream one... everyone has to work at least about 50 yrs so thats a long time to expect ur dream job to last.

Not sure as I have never had a dream job because I never knew what I wanted to do and it's all a bit late now. If any one has their dream job I am very pleased for them. I am just happy sitting at home doing surveys if I can and looking after hubby and pets.

Personally, a dream job can make you happy to a certain point. there is also your free time to yourself. The positive thing about having a dream job it gives you the motivation to get up every morning and go to work, you enjoy and feel satisfied with the outcome of your day.

A lot depends on your age and state of health. What you may consider a dream at age 19-25 might have a very different "feel" at age 45 or beyond. We often find the 'dream' changes as we age.

A dream job you enjoy doing does give you happiness while you are doing your job but it won't give you good health. When you are going about your personal life your job can't give you long term happiness and happiness comes from your personal life, partners, children, family. No, I don't believe guaranteed happiness come from the dream job.

Everyone is trying to get more from work. but the money system has been designed to prevent that from happening. So someone could obviously get their dream from their Job a lot easier if the banks where different.

If you keep an open mind on what you are doing and enjoy whatever it is that you are doing, then you won't be unhappy. It's the only trick to keep you sane during your work years and afterwards once you have retired.

I was an engineer in a steel mill for 41 years and I loved every minute of it. I turned down other jobs with better money and cleaner conditions because I enjoyed the atmosphere and camaraderie of the crews. I wouldn’t describe it as happiness but more as satisfaction and contentment

I am doing my dream job by selling Avon products to customers for 9 years than I am moving on to sell insurance plans to customers and become independent Assoicate for a well-known insurance company than I also become an independent travel agent as well.

Dream jobs are great as long as co-workers are just what you expect them to be and your employer is what you expect them to be. But you can't control those details.

I was in my last job for 30 years and progressed over the years to a Production Supervisor and looked after 249 people and machinery. I enjoyed it very much and found it very rewarding, and met a lot of really nice people.

i think your dream job can make you happy, if you enjoy giving back and you work as a nurse that can be rewarding, everything has pros and cons so nothing is perfect but i believe some people can be happy with there dream job

If one gets a job they love that would be great but in reality this rarely occurs. A job is an end to a means. Money allows you to put a roof over your head, food in your stomach, etc. Sometimes the job is good at providing this and other times not. Some people work very hard for very little and others just glide through life and get the big salaries. Money does not make you happy but it sure eases the passage. I think the answer is you do not live for work but work to live. If you are happy then that is best.
