AI will undermine almost everything

Well friends, this is my good bye. On Tuesday after doing at least 5 surveys,I had acquired 17,789 points. Wednesday after a whole morning with no points showing I was told my points were 16,398 after having completed another slew of surveys. Goodbye and good luck fellas, I hate cheats!

AI will pose challenges to civilization and people, as did the Industrial Revolution in the 19th Century or the introduction of computers in the workplace. AI is an extension of this, and it will be interesting to see how people and the workplace will change.

It looks like traditional degrees have no place in this current AI environment. Only significance is traditional degree holders seem to have more life experience based on knowledge than the current AI education. AI can do nice essays and stories etc. but I always thought that there's something missing with those writing pieces. I feel it's a bit artificial in the true meaning of AI.😀🤪😍

May already be too late. I know people who worked o mine and it seemed to me that they didn’t have to work as hard as I did in person. Online degrees are getting a bad rep—too easy to cheat the system.

It's already happening : ((. So sad, lecturer in UNI marked assignment by computer algorithm back to 20 years ago. I wasn't impressed they have not have the courtesy to read n marked each assignment.

Yeah it probably would. Depends what you're studying though because some subjects are more practical than others so you'll no doubt have to display broader knowledge in job interviews via tests. For example STEM jobs often involve tests during the recruitment process so if people got their degree assisted by AI and missed out that key knowledge then their degree is rendered useless.

Honestly, technology scares me. So much has changed since I was born in 1947. The Viet Nam war is the worst thing I can think of that happened, and Kennedy's assassination, but we used pencils, pens, paper and our brains to learn. Of course my toys were pipe cleaners, wooden thread spools, toothpicks, rubber bands, wooden clothes pins, clay, crayons, coloring books, paper, paint sets, jacks and a jump rope!

I don't agree with chatGPT as it is too easy to cheat. If there is a clear way of knowing that the students are using their own knowledge then some help would be ok, from what I have seen from my family they are not learning the basics and that wll let them down in the future

It's important that people have easy access to education and for some that means online courses. With advancing AI it might mean that online courses will need to become less focused on the written word and more focused on group learning

Personally, I think there is a place for robots in this world of ours. They can do the jobs that would release the human beings to do other things. I know education has changed quite significantly since I was at school, but you can't compete with a hands on teacher, teaching subjects that they are more than conversant with. How can a robot have the same understanding as a teacher in kindergarten & the early classes of school. I think to be taught by a robot in those early years would be more frightening than educational. Just my opinion.

The short answer is no. I don’t have too much faith in online courses in the first place, but it won’t be too long before AI sources start competing with each other. You just cannot replace “live instructors and lectures” or measure the value of “live discussions” with classmates. AI will develop all the course material, tests and assignments and the the student(?) will use AI to provide the answers.

Robots etc all depend on human programming, surely it depends on the programmer.

We need to be careful here as what if AI takes over teaching all together? Would our children become uncaring, robotic and too intelligent for their own good but then again could they come up with a cure for cancer? Where will it stop? What sort of things will AI be good for but we as a species are still going to want the human touch, the human understanding the need to be loved by a human surely. I am hoping by the time all this is full on I'll be gone and then I'll be like every one that has gone before me and say not my problem so why worry and stress over some thing I have no control over. I am concerned AI will not teach proper things. It can only teach what is put into it, and that concerns me greatly, seeing what is going on in today's world.

It applies to all study. The use of it is banned. To ensure someone actually understands the material being taught there must always be an element of class interaction and exams/tests. Online qualifications are dodgy.
