Should police departments tackle the issue of mental illness and sociopath within their own ranks MORE aggressively to minimize the danger of unstable officers?
I m not sure that tackling officers mental issues is as important as tackling the 'causes' of police officers mental issues. Police officers should be expected to be excellent at their job. However, they should not be expected to be perfect. No one short of God is perfect and everyone makes mistakes. A mistake made while acting in good faith, is just that - a mistake.
