Try start a new nation. Decide currency, All types ofLaws which are different on Earth, Religion. Whos in charge (Military, civilians and Country back on Earth. Also health issues crime and all the precedent that have to be modified

There are so many questions- would there be a huge biodome with oxygen and vegetation, food, water, suitable temperature?? and for what purpose- if its because earth is about to blow up then understandable..otherwise not sure.

As things are going now, it would be all the millionaires going first, and all the important people which pisses me off. Are the rest of us peons not worthy enough for a better chance at life? Would it be better? I don't think I want to be first. Let the wealthy be the guinea pigs this time instead of dogs and monkeys! I'm 69 so I might as well wait it out here. However, I expect aliens may take over earth before that. One day at a time. We can't worry about this until we have choices to make. I remember back in my university days, at one of my Philosophy classes they presented us a concept of a teleportation device. It was about a device that would copy atom by atom the person that would walk into the device and then beam their copy over to Mars where a receiving device has been built. The question put to us was...would we be willing to step into the device if during making a copy the device in fact destroyed the original self but generated a copy on the other end, on Mars? Not me! I doubt there will be many who will once they realise that for the foreseeable future they will never, ever be able to return to Earth should they not like it. The entire concept is totally artificial for those who do go will never be able to go outside their plastic bubble city, eating artificially grown food, not being able to get up, walk out and go for a drive and be alone for a while. The entire concept is absurd. Musk would be better employed trying to make the world we live in a better place. This is just another ego-trip for someone with too much money.

It would be mainly for the rich who can afford to travel there. Imagine the limited activity since it does not have fresh air to breath. If you damage your suit you are dead. At least living in a pandemic we have a more of a chance to move about freely

Neither one of Elon Musk predictions are going to happen in the time frame he mention - homo sapiens do not have the technical sklls (at this point) and might NEVER (or it is going to take centuries) acquire the necessarily technical skills for interstellar space.
