Cancer ... What's going on?
Susanne J 76665402-Sep-24
I am a ten-year survivor of stage three bowel cancer.
It seems every second person has some type of cancer, or someone has just died from cancer.
One day doctors will have answers for this the water, soil, plastics

  • They are trialing some new drugs on cancer. One bloke got cured with a new type of treatment. No chemo or radiation. Australia invention. We have some very clever medical science in Aus. It's not given enough funding tho.

    • congratulations on being a tenacious survivor; someday docs will take the steps to truly cure cancer
      ·
      • your survival gives me great hope for my conditions that have had treatment

        • Modified food that didn't exist 20 years ago......and all the lovely radio waves we are bombarded with...day and night...so we we can have mobile phones...fridges that talk to the internet..vehicles that drive themselves...doorbells and cameras that need to talk to you...all the microwaves cooking us to death..... its like a madhouse and no-one seems worried.....

          • It takes a long time to find the source of this condition and the list is getting longer .What is safe so fewer people are getting very sick like to see this list .Glad to hear that you have come through your fight and are raising questions to make others think about this situation

            • It is not only humans that are affected - our pets often suffer from cancers as well. There are so many different types that are diagnosed and some are extremely aggressive. Your thoughts on pollution are very sound - hopefully with more awareness from scientists (and maybe AI), the causes will identified and ultimately the treatments will be less invasive for future cancer sufferers. You have done very well to be a ten-year survivor and hopefully you have completely won the battle. I can understand how it will always be a consideration in the back of your mind - my sister has myeloma and was given five years. Eight years on she is still fighting it and recently her test results have been stable so we all remain hopeful.

              • More studies into animal cancers could benefit humans long term.

            • Three ears ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Taking to friends who've had traditional treatments, it seemed that quality of life is significantly impacted. But I was fortunate enough to get into a trial program for a new technique using laser and robotic surgery techniques. Two years on my cancer is still gone and there are zero side effects. So, while we may not fix the root causes, our treatments for the problems caused will continue to improve.
              ·
              • Lasers might be a great help, esp once they get more advanced. More money needed into their research tho.
                ·
            • there are many causes of cancer & lot of research is going on to find remedies
              ·
              • Yeah I think plastics and probably pollution and poison use could be contributing factors

                • Lasers might be effective in the future for destroying cancer instead of cutting them out .

                      • When my aunty was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1950 the only way to cure it was with the knife. My uncle lost count of her sticher at 250. But fortunatly she survived and live to 95
                        ·
                        • It's a multitude of things that cause it like our food, drinks, products we use in our daily life's and most likely the air we breathe contributes to it too.I believe it will be cured one day. Well done on beating it, that's great to hear. 😊
                          ·
                          • In New Zealand it is 1 in 3 people that will be affected by cancer in their life time. It took my parents, cousin, Grandmother and many others.

                            • Maybe it's genetically altered foods. Stop trying to improve mother nature, by adding vitamins taking things out. Even organics have been altered. I agree plastics has alot to answer for. We should get rid of all plastic and l mean all, bags, cloths everything, phone, money. EVERYTHING. IT'S GREAT THAT YOU BET CANCER

                              • They are working on some new discoveries and treatments. I'd say that in time we might just have more effective drugs to treat this disease.

                                • The cells in our bodies are the engine room that is supposed to protect against internal damage. When they become diseased by inflammation, or damaged they cannot do their assigned job properly. The cells therefore must be healthy and clean. If the cells are in a poor state then you might get growth formation. So what causes cell damage? Numerous things could be responsible. Even certain drugs that are toxic to the cells. It might be possible to grow new ones artificially if the body can not do so effectively. An Italian doctor did some major research into cancer years ago, he thinks that cancer can be like a fungus that proliferates over the cells . He claims to have successfully treated some patients. And without chemo and radiation. They are working on kinder methods to save the vital cells and kill the invaders.

                                  • Perhaps it has something to do with the residues of poisonous chemicals in our food from agricultural and horticultural spraying!! Eat organic please.

                                    • Wonderful that you survived stage three bowel cancer Susanne, hope you are living your best life. Cancer seems to be more common these days. I feel strongly it is the plastic, synthetic. chemical world that we live in that is causing the increases in cancers.

Apparently there's a chemical in it that might cause major health issues. We are only just waking up to this? They have lied to us for years then about the quality of Australia's water. Even bottle water is not safe .

A couple of uncle's and dad too.Lifestyle and your occupation can cause it.Maybe we need a education campaign to warn all the people of what can cause it.Also, if you run down your immune system with drugs, alcohol , don't be surprised if you get it.Only a minority of cancers are genetic.Feel sorry for the kids as cancer was once fairly rare in kids.

Now whether you believe him or not I believe they have the cure for cancer already, but think of it this way cancer drugs and treatments are a multi trillion dollar industry & the big pharmas can't have a bunch of healthy people running around not using their products. Only my opinion of course but I'm a conspiracy theorist & there is some grain of truth there.

I'm also an animal lover, and I don't ever remember hearing of animals having cancer before. But they do now. It has to be the chemicals they use on crops, and it's in the air and water, not just the soil. Thank God, it will all be done away with, and the earth will become a Paradise, like it was purposed to be! The Bible promises God will "bring to ruin those ruining the earth"! Revelation 11:18 ;-D

Somew ice cream is made with anti-freeze. Two large companies in America have just been fined because they knew their products caused cancer, Teflon coated cooking appliances and spot and stain free carpets. Trans fats are banned in Europe but not Australia and when looking for them in foods I found the only time they are mentioned is when they aren't in the foods. Then there is MSG as well as pesticides and herbicides and genetically modified foods. Is anyone really looking after us and protecting us? I don't think so because it's all about money. I do all I can to avoid nasties but I'm waiting for this wicked and corrupt system to come to an end and we can live and eat without having to worry that we are being poisoned.

Every time I was involved in shutdowns at petroleum refineries, I would have a couple of teeth get infected and some had to be pulled out or just fell out. It also happened to others on the same shuts. Maybe just a coincidence.

                                                                • The question which no-one, least of all the Medical Profession, the Politicians, the Food Manufacturers, including Confectionery and Soft Drink Manufacturers don't seem to want to ask is "Why is there so much cancer today?" Not so long ago, Nestle released a Breath Freshener which, from memory, they called "Zero", small extraordinarily tasty Green lozenges which looked like those old Boiled Lollies. They proudly told us they contained "Copper Chlorophyll". People, naturally latched on to the word "Chlorophyll", Nice Green, Healthy Chlorophyll. What they did not realize was that Copper Chlorophyll is a Highly Toxic Extraordinarily Carcinogenic "Heavy Metal", a metal which the body is incapable of eliminiating so that over time it builds up in the biody and causes Cancer. Nestle obviously did not know anything about it for they told us that the amount of it in each lozenge was very tiny. Those lozenges were almost addictive. Like Nestle, we did not know of the extreme danger they posed - at least until found out what Copper Chlorophyll actually was and stopped selling them immediately - much to many customer's annoyance, customers who were buying 4, 5 or 6 packs per day! We are told that the Artificial Sweetener "Aspartame" (Food Additive #951) can also cause Cancers. So why is it allowed to be used? It is used in many popular Soft Drinks which the manufacturers proudly proclaim that their products contain No Sugar (the natural stuff) The Australian New Zealand Food Authority publication 1992 entitled "508 - What's that?" Idnetifying Food Additives lists 1102 Additives and doubtless if there is a current 2024 edition there are hundreds more now listed. Just what are all these Artifical, Laboratory produced chemicals, some as a by-product of Petroleum, doing to our bodies? How many of them are Carcinogenic? How many of them are causing diseases such as Motor Neurone Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Cystic Fibrosis and other serious Health Problems? Do we really need them? have a look at that other Artificial "Fat", called "Trans Fats". All that does is make spreads spread more easily, keeps bread softer. It has No Nutrional Benefit whatsoever so why has its use not been banned? The manufacturers Legally simply hide all these Chemical Additives on their Ingrediants Labels behind those innocent sounding Numbers. Yes, Detection of Cancers, MND, MS, Parkinson's etc. has, thanks to Medical Research and Science, become easier to diagnose but those diagnoses do not tell us why there seems to be a massive increase in those diseases. How many of the Artificial, Laboratory-created Food Additives, Sweeteners, Flavour Enhancers, Colours etc. when individually, or in combination with each other, are responsible for those diseases taking hold?
                                                                  ·
                                                                  • I have read a lot of comments below and disagree entirely. I was born in the 50's and all through my school life I did not come across anyone with cancer - Adults or Children. My family of eight were never sick let alone have cancer. I do believe at the present time it starts mostly with the farmers, unfortunately. All food growing farms use some kind of fertilizer, pesticide or other chemical to enhance the growth and quality of the product. Why even today on the news, I saw a man "painting an apple red with streaks" to make it look more appealing - what the heck! What was in the paint I have no idea. Secondly, Chicken farms also give substances to make the chicken grow bigger and faster. All these things have been done on farms over the last 40 years, destroying the soil, with chemicals and over tilling. It has to be all the supposive "additives" put into a lot of food manufactured by big companies. I firmly believe we have caused the onset of different cancers from all of the above, and we will not change our habits in a hurry, because we are not dedicated enough to realise where the procucts we use for meals in everday life are coming from. Not enough people care about the environemnt or the future of the planet. I feel it's only going to become much worse in the future and fear for all my grandchildren, I hope they will be ok.

Well, I thought now isn't that a good thing, does that not just mean that I haven't got the wretched thing. I don't think there is a family where one or more members aren't affected by some dreaded disease. Not sure if there are more these days or there are just more people who are getting sick. For something that is not contagious there's an awful lot of it around.

In my family the cancer people have isn't the same so it is harder to pinpoint a reason other than the genes some people have making them more susceptible to that disease than others. I get checked every year for breast cancer, my Mum had this with Dad it was liver that progressed to the bone and one sister had bowel cancer and now has lymphoma the other is being monitor for a lump on her lung that so far hasn't grown at all and myself well I am keeping fingers, toes and everything else crossed. You are right though everyone seems to have one type off cancer or other a friend just was diagnosed with one that has resulted from a skin cancer and the treatment, well it is gruesome, but the doctor has told him it's treat it or die from the most painful death imaginable. His brother passed away just over 2 years ago from lung cancer he wasnt' a smoker but worked in the entertainment industry that used those wonderful smoke machines on stage, go figure.

It's likely the combination of things that is the cause for any individual person is largely different from any other person. For example, one person might get lung problems after smoking for 10 years, while another smokes all their life with no problems, but nobody really know why and certainly cannot predict it.

Part of the reason for so many people having cancer is just most other health conditions, medical science has become better at diagnosing it. It's probable that many people in the past died of cancer, but it wasn't diagnosed as cancer; cause of death was unknown. Since we are all eating on the run now and while we are stressed, we aren't cooking from scratch and growing our own food and eat too many things that are bad for us. There's also lack of the right kind of exercise and not enough sleep factoring in. Then there's just the bad luck of a bad gene being passed on over and over again too. There's some research now too, that the Coronavirus spike protein may be causing new cases of cancer and getting vaccinated doesn't necessarily protect because the vaccination contains some spike protein. Time will tell if that's actually the case.

I read an article awhile ago about a body that was found from thousands of years ago that said researchers found signs of cancer within so I don't think it is only a modern day problem only, though a more prevalent one.

It's bad when it goes to the lungs. My husband had a sarcoma on his shoulder. Grew to the size of a mango before we could get any thing done about it. Maybe if it had been done a lot earlier things wouldn't have been such a dramatic ordeal for him. He too had radiation and has been clear for 5 years now and we hold our breath waiting for the next scans to be cleared. He didn't have to have chemo. After the operation they said they had gotten it all but it is a scary time for us. I feel for you and your family and wish you all well and happiness. We were lucky because it could have been so much worse. Cancer is awful and there seems to be no cure and now a days there seems to be many more different types of cancers.

I am currently dealing with breast cancer myself, have recently had a double mastectomy and 2 smaller operations to remove cancer. The oncologist wanted to put me on a trial drug, to find out just before taking it, the government band it, due to to many cancer causing carcinogens. I eat very healthy and grow my own fruit and vegetables. I am staying positive that I will be OK and not letting it get me down.

He had 3 differnt versions over a 5 year period. Operated on for the first 2 but 3rd inoperable. My daughter has also just had a double mastectomy and is undergoing a chemotherapy regime and will also have to have radiation as well. She is having trouble coping with it all
