Should households be fined for too much waste going to landfill? Also should there be fines for those who don't recycle properly? I currently live in an apartment so it's a little harder, but I'm still stunned at how many people put bags of rubbish in the recycling bins that clearly are not paper, cardboard, plastic or glass. I take my soft plastics to be recycled at supermarkets and even collect lids off bottles to be recycled into prosthetics for kids. Then bottles and can drinks I also recycle separately. These are simple things we can all do, but wondering why people are not doing even the basics. Or is there simply no hope or care? |
