What is your happiest memory?
24-Dec-21
I have 2. Went my son's were born. That feeling you get when you first hear the little yell they give. It's like they are saying hello world I'm here, well screaming hello world I'm here. So many emotions and thoughts flooded my head. Happiness was the dominant feeling at those moments.

    • I think that's really lovely. I have never had kids. I recently was given the opportunity to think a lot about my upbringing. Some happy times growing up on the beach near my grandparents with my sister and my father. There's a lot of other stuff too, but those days of innocence, promise, happiness and trust were great, even if we did get sunburnt.

But believe it or not, my best memory was updating my Desktop Computer's Memory chips in my High School days (90s). I bought the chips from a Computer hardware store and was surprised at how easy it was to install the chips. Just opened up the Desktop tower and inserted the chips into parallel memory slots, myself! Simple, and yet the Computer ran many times faster afterwards! Great feeling of achievement and happiness! :-) Reminds me of 'The Way We Were' song from Barbara Streisand. Mem'ries, Light the corners of my mind Misty water-colored memories Of the way we were Scattered pictures, Of the smiles we left behind Smiles we gave to one another For the way we were Can it be that it was all so simple then? Or has time re-written every line? If we had the chance to do it all again Tell me, would we? Could we? Mem'ries, may be beautiful and yet What's too painful to remember We simply choose to forget So it's the laughter We will remember Whenever we remember... The way we were... The way we were...

Got the envelope with my results- i couldn't open it as i was scared i'd not passed. Plucked up courage just before midnight- was out with a friend in the middle of town and people around celebrating- i had passed. was so happy i rang my mum and dad at midnight haha. What a lovely lovely memory. Another much more recent memory was dropping my daughter to her boyfriends (as we do)- she was beaming from her first job and leapt into her (first) boyfriends arms with happiness. Fast forward the job and boyfriend ended- the 2nd very painfully. But that little moment in time of her joy is beautiful.
