I know there are people who refuse to use them but there are others who use shopping rewards cards to their advantage and earn some extra income from them. It's not just getting points for every dollar spent but you can also earn points for taking up special offers they send you.
We only take up offers if they are easily achievable and if we don't have to spend extra money on things we don't need. We have Coles and Woolworths Reward cards and we've done pretty well out of them over the years. We gained $390 worth of points using the Coles one last year and used it to get money off our shopping. We shop more at Woolworths and managed $515 worth off our shopping last year. All up we usually spend well under $150 on shopping each week so the return is more than 10% back on our outlay. I think it's well worth the effort. How about you?
