Stocking stuffers

Christmas is coming... Soon enough. Only 2 months away and the final countdown will be on. There are certain Christmas items that are a must-have for the stocking every year, for some it may be a certain candy treat or a favorite chocolate bar, perhaps socks and underwear the possibilities are endless. My thing is a 3 pack red package lidor chocolates, they are delicious. I have already picked them up, 1 pack for each stocking. What are your favorite stocking stuffers that you give or receive?

    I just recently bought stockings for my two dogs and two cats. Am I abnormal. What sort of treats should I stuff them with? So far it’s a toy in each.

      Depends on the person of course. I like little bottles of perfume or men's cologne. Everyone's personal favorite candy. Batteries are always good. Small hand tools, electrical tape, headlamps for the guys. Facial masks and make up or lotions for the ladies. Little toys, headphones, flashlights and knit hats for the kids.

                      Used to do Christmas stockings when my Grandchildren were young but they are teenagers now and prefer Prezzie cards to get what they want so that is what I give them with a block of chocolate each.

                            Those are delicious chocolates! Perfect for stocking stuffers. When we were kids Christmas mixed nuts in their shells were a favourite and oranges and chocolate coins.

                              When I was a kid we got little toys like a bag of marbles, Yo-yo, magnets, rubber Gumby...We only got chocolate or candy at Halloween and Easter.

                                Family tradition from U.K. Which is an apple,an orange and a bag of assorted nuts. Also have small gift depending on age and some sweets. This was tradition from British folk stories about St. Nick and Black Peter..( no offence to anyone ,it's the character's name.

                                  In Hungary St Nick Day along with Black Peter ( the devil holding a metal pitch fork) was on 6th December. The eve before children would clean/polish shoe and leave them lined up to be filled with sweets, depending if they'd been naughty or good. No sweets for the bad ones of course, the were left a branch of birch wood, guess to be punished with!

                                                We like socks, white chocolate because we cannot eat chocolate but the lindt makes great white chocolate peppermint balls and kisses also comes in white chocolate peppermint kisses. Expensive lip gloss that you would normally not buy to have all year. They have great gift boxes on a shopping channel for anywhere from 15 to 25 dollars with designer makeup and bath supplies I buy the boxes because most things in the box are trial size and I split them up and put the items in friends and family members stockings in addition to fruit and danish cookies.

                                                  Haven't done stockings since my kids were under 10 years old but did enjoy filling them up with little treats and small toys like matchbox cars, Lego and bouncy balls, knuckle bones, stickers,Bey blades etc.. My boys always enjoyed opening their stockings.

                                                              I never had kids so was never an issue for me but mum always added fruit along with the chocolate and lollies. We all got a banana an orange and an apple in our Santa sacks (pillow cases). There were 5 of us and she never failed to add those.

Christmas used to be the only time we had oranges. I did similar with my kids-things they didn't usually have be it chocolate, imported fruit or whatever was seen as "special" is now more difficult for families to find something small that is not usually had.So what ever works for each, if one follows this tradition

Colour pencils and colouring books, thongs, shorts shirts, underwear usually at least 3 to 4 outfits. Then at least 6 age appropriate toys under $10. Then I fill the rest with Christmas wrapped chocolate, lollies. It's all about the stocking surprise for all ages, even 70 year old.

                                                                                                                                                        We don't celebrate christmas because the Bible tells us Jesus was born while shepherds were tending their flocks, so it couldn't have been in winter, because sheep were housed then, and because the only 2 examples of birthdays found in the Bible are very negative. The Baker was hung during one, and John, the Baptist, was beheaded during the other. Please read Genesis 40:20-23 and Matthew 14:6-11. We aren't instructed to celebrate birth days in the Bible. ;-D

I put 10 away each week and the money i save from here goes in tin and mid Nov i crack the tin open. I have minimum of $520 for Christmas and thats my spending money. I work in retail so I have to get mine done early

I feel such a waste of money. Small items, maybe from Dollar Store add up. Why not buy something that the children need. Dish of candy/treats can always be put out for the whole family.

We prepare a special meal together and enjoy each others company. Much less stressful than in years gone by, having to think what everyone would enjoy.

The Scandinavian countries never fall under the control of a corrupt and decadent Roman Catholic Church which control the rest of Europe with an IRON FIST at one time - now known as the Catholic Church -The Roman Catholic Church renamed a pagan holiday - called it Christmas and used it as an opportunity to rip the poor off - the poor are financially desperate enough to believe in miracles! Why would you celebrate a pagan holiday now known as Christmas.......

                                                                                                                                                                                  I put up a stocking for myself and for my pet kitty cat companiona nd confidante Plummy. I always drop an orange or a tangerine into the toe of the stocking and add her fave catnip treats to her stocking w/ doggie toys since Plummy hates kitty toys. I put a small box of Whitman's Chocolates into my stocking and a box of disposable eCigarettes. Xmastide is always a lonely time for us as we have no real family close by. My brother lives 250+ miles from us and never visits. He knows I cannot get to him as I do not drive and no longer own a car and my friends will not drive me that far. Besides, they have their own families and friends so Xmastide for us is a lonely and depressing and in my case very angry time!

Emails or letters throughout the year? This goes both ways and has nothing to do with being shut in or a recluse. If you want effort from them, make effort from you toward them.
