What was the first album or cassette you ever bought?

I so enjoyed Emma Kate's recent discussion on favourite songs for her playlist and then started thinking about the first cassette tape i ever bought- which was in the 80s. It was Human League.
I was a student at a Technical Institute and was living away from home for the first time and in a Halls of residence. Having my music cassette player going was great and i remember friends making those mix tapes with some many great songs on them.

    I don't remember the first album or cassette tape. I do remember the first CD i bought which was Jimmy Barnes album Two Fires. I still enjoy it today.

      Elvis Presley and I left it in my Father's car and it bent. I can't remember what he used, something hot I think, and was able to save it bar one track that had a big burn mark on it. I still have the album. Loved Elvis.

                                  After a pretty big spat I got a 78 shellac recording of Smiley Dawson, I reckon it would have been in 1954 or 1955 and had a version of 'Wild Colonial Boy' on the A' side, I remember having to get an adult to play it on the radiogram because I WASN'T allowed to change the needle or to put the needle on the record because 'you''ll scratch the record'

                                                                        I remember the cover to this one, my brothers didn't want Mum and Dad to see it, so they hid the record in my room. Girl's backside wearing ripped short short, short pants or something, lolol

                                                                                              I bought a single of Col Joye and still got it. Album was probably a 60’s maybe Buddy Holly,Big O or Gene Pitney not sure but still got them. In January 1980 I was in Nashville and got a 3 record set of Elvis. 1 had a full color photo on it as part of the make up. Still got it but no player so may have to find a place to convert to CD

They defected to The Bay City Rollers. BLAH
