| ON PRIME VIDEO......Based upon a 15 year old video game...this 8 part TV adaption's chances of success looked a bit dodgy...it was described as "science fiction" by people who do not understand what that means..and attacked by gamers who played back in the good old days....this is a fantasy using lots of heavily used concepts...nuclear war...the 1950s in the US...cold war...good old US citizens living in bunkers.eating corn....even knights and their squires...all wandering around post apocalypse America...good sound track...dark humour...and as it evolves it is becoming very apparent (to me) that is also a modern retelling of THE WIZARD OF OZ...we have a Dorothy ...we have a tinman....and a Scarecrow...I am on episode 6 and am waiting for the lion and the wizard to appear...I think its fun...might be worth giving it a go?..ok we have Toto and the lion....just the wizard to go..yup the wizard of OZ is there too....there is bound to be a series 2..."Return to Fallout?".... |
