Is reality real, or are our dreams reality?

We are conceived in our mother's womb, after a while we are born into this world.
We live our lives within this world for a given amount of time, then we die and cease to physically exist in this world.
In between being born and dying to this world, we often have dreams of various different types.
Sometimes, we may even have nightmares and wake up in a sweat.
Over the past decade or more I have often had dreams, however; some of these dreams have reoccured for several months, then the contents of those dreams become reality and those dreams cease.
Then sometime later, I start getting reoccurring dreams for several months or weeks again, referring to other issues, and then again those dreams come true, and those dreams stops
and this goes on and on
Obviously, these are dreams warning me about things to come.
BUT to take this further; whilst living in this world, we dream of other things; BUT is this world the real reality OR do we actually live within that dream world and we are just dreaming that we are in this world?

  • A little while back I had a very vivid dream of sitting in an underground bar in Melbourne...this other guy and I were both talking and laughing...going up to the bar to buy each other drinks...I did wonder how I got there...and while we were both having a great time..what was this guys name?...he looked so familiar...anyway after a fairly long session...he said that he had to go now and it was great catching up...as he got up to go I said "you aren't David Bowie are you?"...he pulled that smile and said "no mate...David is dead"...and walked out...just under three weeks later that was a fact..

    • If you accept that the world you perceive when you are awake is real...then I would argue that when you die you do not have to cease to physically exist...I have seen a fair bit of evidence to suggest otherwise.....and why would you think that it is either one or the other in your case?....humans tend to think in absolutes....both can be reality or neither can... just as easily Edward...the further you go, the deeper it can get... There would seem to be at least 8 or 9 parallel universes in operation to support quantum physics....god knows what else is going on....
