| Did anyone else on here do roller skating-the ones you tightened with a key, boots and laces? My Mom tells me when she was growing up, there was a wooden roller skating rink with a live organist to play music. We have a little village on Lake Erie nearby where we live, and we stayed at a cottage for a week a couple of summers, and being 12, i talked the parentals into letting me go to the outdoor rink right off the beach. So much fun-great music-Spirit in the Sky for one, and the lights...we would hop over the fence and skate up and down the boardwalk. Then a few years later, my boyfriend and i would skate at the local rink. Sadly they have disappeared, and i would be afraid of hurting myself through falling. Anyone else have fond memories of this? (btw, don't get me started on ice skating-hated it-the cold, the whole feel of it). |
